4. Camera Access

The App requires camera access to scan book spines and ISBN barcodes. Photos are processed locally on your device for text recognition and are not uploaded to our servers unless you choose to save book covers to your library.

• Processing happens in real-time and data is not retained by AI providers
• Generated insights are stored in your account and encrypted
• All AI-generated content is clearly labeled in the App

Your Rights and Choices

Access and Control

You have the right to:

• Access your data: View all personal data we have about you
• Update your data: Edit your profile information and book library
• Export your data: Download your library and notes in CSV format
• Delete your data: Permanently delete your account and all associated data

Account Deletion

When you delete your account, all personal data, book libraries, notes, and AI-generated content are permanently deleted within 30 days. This action cannot be undone.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you delete your account, we will delete your data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.

Children's Privacy

The App is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@bookra.im.

International Data Transfers

To provide our services, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in different countries or regions. We take appropriate security measures to protect your data and ensure compliance with applicable data protection laws. By using the App, you consent to such data transfers.
