Welcome to Bookra (the "App"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legal agreement between you and the Bookra development team ("we," "us," or "our") regarding your use of the App.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to any part of these Terms, please do not use the App.

2. Service Description

Bookra is a personal book management application that provides:

  • Book scanning and entry
  • Reading progress tracking
  • AI-assisted reading insights
  • Book information management
  • Data backup and restore (paid feature)

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Registration

  • You must provide a valid email address to register an account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account, including password confidentiality
  • You are responsible for all activities under your account

3.2 Account Usage

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the App
  • Each user may only register one account
  • Selling, transferring, or sharing account access is prohibited

4. Subscription Services

4.1 Subscription Plans

The App offers the following subscription plans:

  • Free: Basic features with usage limits
  • Pro: Unlocks all features
  • Family: Supports up to 6 people sharing (via Apple Family Sharing)

4.2 Payment and Renewal

  • All subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store
  • Subscriptions auto-renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
  • You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings

4.3 Refund Policy

  • Refund requests should be processed through the Apple App Store
  • We follow Apple's refund policy

4.4 Free Trials

  • Some subscription plans offer free trial periods
  • After the trial ends, charges begin automatically unless canceled
  • Each Apple ID is eligible for one free trial only

4.5 Price Changes

  • We reserve the right to adjust subscription prices
  • Price changes will be notified in advance and take effect in the next renewal period

5. User Content

5.1 Your Content

  • You retain ownership of all book information, notes, and other content you add to the App
  • You grant us permission to store and process your content to provide the service

5.2 Content Responsibility

  • You are solely responsible for content you upload
  • Uploading content that infringes others' intellectual property rights is prohibited
  • Uploading illegal, harmful, or inappropriate content is prohibited

6. AI Features

6.1 AI-Generated Content

  • The App uses AI technology to generate reading insights and recommendations
  • AI-generated content is for reference only and does not constitute professional advice
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of AI-generated content

6.2 Usage Limits

  • Free users have monthly AI feature usage limits
  • Abusing AI features or attempting to circumvent usage limits is prohibited

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 App Copyright

  • The App and all its components (including but not limited to code, design, icons) are our intellectual property
  • Copying, modifying, distributing, or reverse engineering the App without authorization is prohibited

7.2 Third-Party Content

  • Book information may come from third-party data sources
  • Book cover image copyrights belong to their respective authors or publishers

8. Prohibited Activities

When using the App, you must not:

  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Infringe on others' intellectual property or privacy rights
  • Spread malware or conduct security attacks
  • Attempt unauthorized access to systems or data
  • Interfere with the normal operation of the App
  • Use automated tools for bulk operations

9. Service Changes and Termination

9.1 Service Changes

  • We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the service at any time
  • Significant changes will be notified to users in advance

9.2 Account Termination

  • If you violate these Terms, we may suspend or terminate your account
  • You may delete your account at any time; related data will be deleted

10. Disclaimers

10.1 Service Availability

  • The App is provided "as is" without any express or implied warranties
  • We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service

10.2 Limitation of Liability

  • To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
  • Our total liability shall not exceed the subscription fees you paid in the past 12 months

11. Dispute Resolution

11.1 Governing Law

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of your country or region of residence
  • For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), you benefit from mandatory consumer protection laws in your country
  • Nothing in these Terms affects your rights as a consumer under applicable local law

11.2 Dispute Resolution Process

  • Any disputes should first be resolved through friendly negotiation
  • If negotiation fails, you may seek resolution through:
    • Your local consumer protection authority
    • Small claims court in your jurisdiction
    • Any other competent court in your jurisdiction

11.3 EU Users

  • EU users may use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform: https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr
  • You may also file complaints with your local consumer protection authority

12. Modifications to Terms

  • We may update these Terms from time to time
  • Modified Terms will be published in the App
  • Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms

14. Miscellaneous

14.1 Entire Agreement

These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the App.

Our failure to enforce any right under these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that right.
